Peter Sinclair
Sinclair@frontline.u-net.com After three years in commercial book publishing, Peter set up a left-wing cultural publishing house in 1974. It survived the Thatcher years until 1989 by providing specialist printing services to a number of art galleries. In 1990 he conceived and organised a cultural festival from the frontline states in southern Africa, bringing over more than a hundred musicians, artists, performers and writers to Glasgow during its year as European City of Culture, and toured the festival to Manchester and Dublin. In 1991 he helped to organise one of the first arts-based projects to be funded by the European Social Fund in the UK. Since then he has been developing creative industry strategies focusing on the needs of people working or wanting to work in the sector, especially those from disadvantaged communities. Peter has been a member of the
Forum on Creative Industries (FOCI) since it was formed.
