Among thousands of links you can find associations and clubs, manufacturers, model agencies, galleries, labs, retailers and studios. A search facility is included, but although the links reach far and wide there are no details apart from the names of the web-sites and the addresses of the companies they represent.
www.jagnets.co.uk	Jagnets Photography Directory Services A vast resource in the making, leaning toward the academic, business and industrial sides of photography. The UK Photo Libraries section is a single page several yards long, sorted geographically and by subject and covering all angles from aeriel to underwater, with each link displaying contact details and a brief description of the site written by its originator. Jagnets also covers the rest of the world, though not yet in comparable detail.

www.photonet.org.uk	The Photographers' Gallery Central London's first independent UK gallery devoted to photography and the first to show key names such as André Kertesz, Jacque-Henri Lartigue and Irving Penn. As well as nurturing new talent, the Photographers' Gallery is a registered educational charity committed to increasing visual literacy and access to photography, and runs a bookshop dedicated to photography.
www.openeye.org.uk	Open Eye Liverpool gallery seeking to promote, enable and celebrate contemporary photographic art by developing new and established artists. Educational programmes and training opportunities reach out to new and existing audiences, creating opportunities for new work and exhibitions. Open Eye provides technical support services, tours exhibitions and publishes books.
www.sitegallery.org	Site Gallery Sheffield Gallery centre for the exhibition and production of lens-based and electronic media offering free exhibitions of contemporary art alongside open-access darkroom and digital facilities, with educational events and short courses. The policy is to present innovative, challenging and creative work addressing contemporary debates and issues. The programme of exhibitions and educational events includes photography, film and video, installation and work using computer based technology.

www.the-aop.org/	The Association of Photographers Non-profit-making trade association for photographers offering career, insurance and legal advice to its members. The AOP publishes Image magazine written and illustrated by professional photographers and an industry guide book - Beyond the Lens - both free to members. The Association has links with the National Union of Journalists and the AOP press card is widely recognised as the badge of professionalism.
www.rps.org	Royal Photographic Society The RPS is open to everyone with a real interest in photography including teachers, historians and scientists, as well as amateurs and full-time professionals. The Society runs the Octagon Galleries in Bath housing four changing exhibitions and a museum of photography drawn from its collection. Membership benefits include free copies of the RPS Journal, invitations to numerous workshops, seminars and master-classes, plus access to RPS specialist interest groups.
www.womeninphotography.org	Women In Photography International Promoting the visibility of women photographers and their work through a variety of programmes, exhibitions, competitions and publications. An educational non-profit organisation, WIPI provides an online resource to galleries, museums, educational programmes and reference libraries. Their online quarterly F2 e-zine section contains articles, book reviews, competitions, gallery listings, marketing news, product information and employment opportunities.
www.pagb-photography-uk.co.uk	The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain PAGB represents UK photographic clubs through 15 regional Federations, organising national competitive photographic events and producing recorded lectures. www.nmpft.org.uk	NMPFT The National Museum of Photography, Film & Television has a collection of over three million items of historical, social and cultural value including the world's first negative and the world's first example of moving pictures. They host Europe's first gallery dedicated to digital media which aims to set new standards in display and interactivity. NMPFT events bring you face-to-face with leading photographers, and they promote three film festivals.

The web-site seeks to provide a starting point and knowledge base for further study and understanding of the subject and though it promotes itself as a portal there is plenty to see here before exploring the links. With a feature articles on history, collecting, filters and creativity, a buyer's guide to second hand equipment, FAQ's and a darkroom section, Still Journal could detain you for a while.

BJP Online carries the tradition into cyberspace with a web-site requiring registration for full access. There are exhibition pages with public submissions invited, photo tutorial articles, a book directory and links to other BJP sites.

The SPF constitution is also here along with rules for its own competitions and a calendar of international competitive exhibitions. Queries regarding photographic practices and skills are welcomed with a membership of 2,500 photographers to draw on for answers.
www.bipp.com	British Institute of Professional Photography Founded in 1901, BIPP is the UK's principal professional photographic organisation representing advertising, industrial, press, medical, corporate, military, law-enforcement and social photographers as well as specialist technicians and technologists. BIPP is a qualifying body and confers professional qualifications to practitioners in a range of disciplines and levels. The BIPP magazine - The Photographer - contains examples of members work and is published ten times a year and the web-site has an on-line guide to careers in photography in the UK.
www.picture-research.org.uk	Picture Research Association Organisation of professionals in the image industry running seminars and courses, publishing a magazine and a newsletter, and disseminating information and advice about the professional photographic industry. Representing people who search for pictures for a living, the PRA's purpose is to promote the interests and skills of professional people involved in the researching, editing, managing and distributing of pictures. www.rps.org	Royal Photographic Society Formed in 1853 with Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as patrons. The Society's mission is 'to promote the Art and Science of Photography' and membership includes teachers, historians and scientists, as well as dedicated amateurs and full-time professionals. Amphot provides an online gallery with a few pages of editors choice exhibitions. Amphot's main strength, as it undergoes a rewrite, is in a comprehensive set of links to photo societies and camera clubs across the UK and beyond. It also links across the business to manufacturers, retailers, magazines, etc.
www.btinternet.com/~conwycamera	Conwy Camera Group of amateurs with an interest in photography and cameras. The club has been going for over fifty years and meets regularly in Conwy for competitions, lectures, practical evenings and field trips. A gallery page demonstrates just how spoiled they are for landscape. There are practical advice pages with hints and tips, a Q&A forum, and plenty more.
www.bromleycameraclub.org.uk	Bromley Camera Club Apart from the odd week off in summer Bromley Camera Club has been meeting every Thursday for 106 years. Their programme includes lectures, slide shows, competitions and outings and the club has its own darkroom complete with enlargers and all the equipment required to produce monochrome or colour prints. A tuition group within the club provides help and workshop advice for beginners. In addition to a successful track record exhibiting in national and international competitions, BCC holds its own internal competitions and stages an annual exhibition of over 200 prints and slides of member's work.
